She’ll share wisdom and unique insights she’s gained while following her passion to photograph rock art for nearly 18 years. Along the way she’s learned much from her experiences, archaeologists, Forest Service guides, Native Americans, shaman and others. She’ll share her perspective from an artist's point of view; talk about sacred sites, discuss how pictographs and petroglyphs were made, their possible interpretations and more.

Susie Reed thinks of herself as a collaborator with the ancients whose rock art she depicts. Her remarkable photos have been seen and collected by people in many countries. She's considered a foremost photographer of rock art, according to Linda Goldenstein, owner of Goldenstein Gallery where Reed exhibits.

This tour is a unique opportunity to visit a wonderful outdoor museum, nestled in Sedona's stunning beauty and see inspiring creations made by ancient artists, whom were essentially Plein Air artists themselves, long before the term was coined. Moderate hiking is required and space is very limited. Participants will carpool to the site.
