Following Susie Reed's class she'll celebrate the publication of her
2012 Southwest Rock Art Calendar wth a calendar signing.

In this workshop award-winning fine art and commercial photographer Susie Reed will provide tips for submitting artwork of all kinds to galleries, shows, competitions and juried exhibitions. Drawing from her experience judging art competitions, she’ll share an insider’s view of criteria judges’ use to select winners and discuss what some may prefer not to see. She’ll explain how to prepare artwork for submission including how to photograph it and the types and sizes of pictures to create for online, CD or DVD submissions. She’ll talk about the emotional side of being accepted or rejected and suggest ways artists can successfully navigate being in a gallery.

Susie Reed has had her artwork exhibited in major museums and galleries including the Cooper Hewitt Museum, the De Young Museum and the Library of Congress. She shows her photography at Goldenstein Gallery, voted the top gallery in Sedona the last four years by the readers of Kudos.. Reed is the director of Sedona Photofest’s Red Rock Open Photo Competition and has previously judged contests for them, Keep Sedona Beautiful and the Sedona Camera Club. After her presentation Reed will sign copies of her 2012 Southwest Rock Art calendar.

Cost: FREE to Sedona Arts Center members.
